Example of Meeting - The RockStart with news sharing time Do the story of the wise man who built his house on the rock (you can act it out, read it, or do a sketch Explain the theme for today is Rock. Give each person a rock to hold and examine. Discuss how rock is referred to in the Bible a lot, God is our rock, Jesus called Peter a rock, building a house on a rock. Ask group to discuss how we should be like a rock, or our faith should be like a rock. Did looking and hold a rock give them any new ideas? Now ask group to think of other meanings of rock. Discuss if Christians should be like any of these meanings of rock. Tell group they will be able to take the rock home to remind them of what they have discussed and how we should be like rocks. They are also to be given a Prayer Rock Poem (see below) so the rock can remind them to pray. Optional - decorate the rock with eyes & mouth. Cut out a square of material to wrap rock in and tie with ribbon. Use ribbon to attach card and then hand out poem to be stuck to card. Close in prayer Prayer Rock Poem I'm your little prayer rock, this is what I do- Then turn back your covers and climb on into bed- So then you will remember as your busy day through- When you finish praying, just dump me on the floor- When you wake in the morning, Clunk! I'll stub your toe- Put me back on your pillow- when your bed is made, You know your Heavenly Father cares and loves you so,
