Peacemobile is an exciting new way for children to develop peace-making skills and awareness through play. Peacemobile consists of 20 interactive exhibits on the themes of
- Peace for Me – helping children discover the wonder and beauty within themselves by increasing self-esteem, self-awareness, and self-confidence.
- Peace for Us - helping children explore and practice cooperation, communication, conflict resolution and respect for others in their daily relationships.
- Peace for Everybody - helping children to examine the possibilities of others and celebrate the cultural diversity of the human race.
- Peace for the Planet - helping children to address the need for care and appreciation of our earth.
Performing puppet plays, building houses from Lego, making masks, designing a peace flag, making a ‘No More Litter’ poster: these are just a few of the ways in which the children learn peace-making skills.
A typical Peacemobile session will last between one and two hours. Children move from exhibit to exhibit doing the activities and discussing what they have learnt.
At the beginning of a Peacemobile session each child is given a passport.
As each child completes an activity they receive a sticker for their
passport. A further sticker is received for discussing the questions related
to the activity.
