Community of Christ is called to be "in the forefront of those organizations and movements which are recognizing the worth of persons and are committed to bringing the ministry of [Jesus Christ] to bear on their lives" (Doctrine and Covenants 151:9)

• We are called to restore Christ’s promise of peace through teaching and practicing nonviolent conflict resolution so we can help promote and pursue peace for all peoples and all nations across the globe.
• We are called to care for God's earth and its resources.

Our International Peace Award has been given since 1993. The award includes a financial gift to be donated to the charitable peace, justice, or environmental organization(s) of the recipient's choice. and a sculpture created by Wyoming artist Gail Sundell. Each is made slightly different to honour the unique peace-making contribution of the recipient.
